What to expect

Booked in. Tested properly. Out the same day.

01

Honest, itemised report

You get a printed VT20 (pass) or VT30 (refusal) on the day. Any advisory or fail item is itemised, explained in plain English, and — where useful — we'll show you on the car before you leave.

02

No surprise quotes

If a repair is needed to pass, we quote it before we touch a spanner. You decide whether we proceed, you take it elsewhere, or you bring it back another day.

03

Same-week slots

Phone or message the workshop and we'll usually find you a slot inside the week — often the next working day. Test, retest, courtesy car when stock allows.

MOT FAQs

The questions customers actually ask.

How much does a Class 4 MOT cost?

The DVSA-set maximum is £54.85; we charge competitively within that — call 01908 375 773 for the current bay price. The official maximum hasn't risen since 2010.

What if my car fails?

You can have repairs done with us or take the car elsewhere. If we do the repair within 10 working days, the retest is free at Anglos. We never carry out repair work without an agreed quote.

Can I drive my car if it fails?

Only in narrow cases — taking it to a pre-booked test or repair appointment, and only if it's roadworthy. If the failure involves a "dangerous" defect on the certificate, driving the car is an offence. We'll always tell you which category applies.

When is my MOT due?

Check anytime at gov.uk/check-mot-status with just your reg. We'll also remind you a month before yours expires if you're an Anglos customer.
